Veer-ing Its Way Through.

Well, the wait is over as perhaps some might say Salman Khans biggest movie till date

. Bigger than Maine Pyar Kiya, Tere Naam, Wanted, Veer is all over the place at this point of time.

Veer film is very close to Salmans heart, as he has written the script of the movie. But, the bone chilling aspect is that he had done this 20 years back! The news is that Salman had the script figured out when he was busy shooting for his film Baaghi (1990).

Salman had penned down the script of Veer, after reading Taras Bulba, a novel written by Nikolai Gogol. Veer is said to be inspired from this novel. The movie takes us through the era of 1875 and is based on the love story of a warrior Veer and his clan of the fearless Pindhari warriors of the 19th century.

Veer dictates the story of extreme valor, stern pride and heartrending love. The British at that time had incarcerated India with their deceitful divide and rule policy, kings and nawabs fell to their guile and cunning, and entrusted their prized kingdom to the foreigners. But the brave Pindaris, who preferred death to dishonor and would battle to their last breathe to save their land. The bravest, the toughest, the strongest of the Pindaris is Veer. As Veer takes on the might of the British Empire, he also has to fight the conniving King of Madavgarh as well his own jealous tribesmen. But then the stakes are high. At stake is his love for princess Yashodhara, daughter of his sworn enemy and his thirst to avenge his father's dishonor.

Veer will see the debut of two heroines in Bollywood such as Lisa Lazarus and Zarine Khan. Lisa Lazarus has already her share of fame before entering in Bollywood as she is a former Miss Universe UK. The buzz is that Zarine Khan is a Katrina look alike. The both the actresses have made an impact even before the film promotion began. With these two newbie, Veer has also two veteran actors like Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff in the film. Mithun will be playing Salmans father in the movie and Jackie will be seen playing a negative role. Apart from this, real life brother Sohail will be seen playing Salmans reel life brother in Veer.

The music of the film is composed by Sajid-Wajid and lyrics by Gulzar. The movie is shot extensively across United Kingdom, primarily in and around London utilizing chariots, horse carts and items peculiar to the late 19th century. In India they have shot in places like Rajasthan, Bikaner, Jaipur, Sambhar, Dulla and Jodhpur. These places give the movie an ancient look which the director demanded.

Veer is said to be the largest scale film ever made! Anil Sharma, the director of Veer has already given us a blockbuster film like Gadar- Ek Prem Katha in 2001. After Apne did a fair business at the box office, he is back with Salmans Veer and hopes to make this big.

Though Veer took its time to come in the picture, but the wait will prove to be worth?
