WISDOM CALLS

The definition of wisdom from an English dictionary is as follows, 'The ability to discern what is true, right or lasting.' Do you feel as overwhelmed as I do just by the mention of that word? The writer of the famous Proverbs book says that Wisdom calls out from the highest point in the street to us. A suggestion perhaps that a more supreme calling exists over us that calls to us to account and warns us against folly.

Where shall I start with the number of times alarm bells went off in my mind whenever I was about to say or do something foolish. We all have that inward conscience that guides us morally and even spiritually. We also have the ability to turn that voice off whenever we don't want to listen to 'The Lady Wisdom'. How can I befriend this lady that will bring me discipline and even wealth. Do I want to befriend her? That's a question that only you can answer. As for me,oh Yes!..

There is no formulae for obtaining a friendship with wisdom. There is however life experiences that will expose you to her. There are books that can only ever describe her in part. I find though that when I lack wisdom, the best thing I can do is to go to someone who has been there, done that and got the T-shirt to say that they've passed the test. Please don't take counsel from someone who has no fruit of success. It will cripple you. Dancing with Wisdom often requires a humility on our part that, I must say, will sometimes cause us to seem foolish. Have you ever heard Wisdom from a child? My nephew told me on a particular occasion that if I wanted to be a mum, then I needed to learn how to do mummy things..that from the mouth of a babe..And I needed to be told that. I was discussing the benefits of relationships with my sister when he chipped in.If you have a grandparent, therewith exists a goldmine of wisdom just by them having lived longer than you. And as for your mother's intuitive advice - PRICELESS..Mamma knows best. God must have built into them an inward discernment tool that points to accuracy when knowing about their children's lives.

When Wisdom calls, answer her. She will bring correction to you but she will also bring you much solace and hope.
