WOW Druid Leveling Guide

As manipulators of the natural world, Druids have a great deal of spells and tricks that they possess. Raid groups love Druids for their wide range of talents and spells. With dominant healing abilities, Druids are capable of raising dead allies as well as ridding poisons from their groups. With their connection to the natural side of World of Warcraft, Druids have the ability to conjure some of the more deadly spells nature has to offer.

These nature based spells can help destroy, confuse and even capture enemies of the Druid. The spells that they can produce can be some of the most powerful spells in the entire game. You are able to shape shift as a Druid, allowing you to use strengths that you otherwise would not be able to. Each different shape you can take as a Druid comes with specific strengths and weaknesses. One of the most varied classes of characters. Druids are a fun class to begin your World of Warcraft career with. If gives you the ability to truly decide what type of player you are.

If you are looking for more info on expanding your knowledge on Druids then check out this Druid Leveling Guide.

Your strength as a Druid comes from afar, your attacks will almost always be a ranged attack. Each different form you take will grant you very specific talents, these talents can only be used when in that form. You will learn that each shape you can take can help you with specific problems throughout your World of Warcraft career.

A few of the things that you can change into are: A Sea Lion, a Cat (more like a lion), a Bear, a Tree and a few others. Some forms are meant for travel purposes only; the Sea Lion form will allow you to swim faster through water. The use of the Cat form is melee damage, pure and simple, you can compare it to a Rouge's abilities. Besides the powerful attack speed, the biggest draw about Cat form is the use of stealth. You will also be able to travel faster than in your normal form.

As a Bear you will be most useful as a tank. It shares many character traits as a Warrior. As a Bear, Druids can take high amounts of damage and generate a great deal of threat from their enemies. In your Tree form you will take on more of a Priest's role. Being able to heal multiple targets and having a multitude of healing abilities.

Unfortunately the Druid has many different limitations to their class. Like a lot of caster characters, Druids are restricted to wearing cloth and leather armor, which provides them little to no protection from enemy attacks. Look at gear as more of an enhancement of your statistics; you will not find much armor to protect you. As long as you avoid direct combat with an enemy, you should be fine.

Shape shifting can be useful and fun, but it also has its flaws. If you want to change into a certain form indefinitely then you might want to consider changing character types all together. For example, if you wanted to be in Bear form all the time, you should probably just make a Warrior character so that you will have more useful abilities. Versatility is the name of the game for Druids. If you only want to master one type of character, you should really look into being a different character type.

Check out this Druid Leveling Guide for a more detailed look into being a Druid.

The decision to choose your talent tree will be determined by what spec you want to be: healer, tank or DPS. Feral Combat will be your best talent to use if you want to mainly DPS while Balance will be your strongest choice for tanking. That leaves Restoration to be your tree for healing. One drawback to having so many different specs to choose from is that your talent trees are harder to make your own.

For example: If you were a Warlock, you would only be able to do damage, even though you have three different talent builds to choose from. This wide range of options gives you the ability to fine tune what you want to accomplish with your Warlock. Druids don't have that luxury, they have one talent build per spec and that is it. Not much personalization..

Feral Combat is going to be your best talent to use while leveling. Even if you don't want to become a DPS character. While leveling you need to be able to do a good amount of damage, while still protecting yourself, you can get both of those with this talent build. Others would be tempted to pick Restoration, but that would put you at a disadvantage when it came to killing your enemies. Feral Combat also lets you have more animal forms you can change into, which is a blast!

If you are overwhelmed by all the options that the Druid has, don't worry. Use the time leveling your character to see what aspect of the Druid interests you the most, and focus on that. This will give you ample time to make your decision and you can always change the talent points in your talent trees.

When you have a powerful Druid, it can make any group much better. Utilizing the different aspects of a Druid is key to making any group successful. Druids are powerful, versatile and useful, never underestimate their abilities.
