Walmart Employee Benefits
One of the good things about working for this huge retailer is that they offer a strong benefit package when you have a job at Walmart
. They are dedicated to rewarding their employees as much as they reasonably can without having to raise prices that would chase their frugal customer base.
Your basic job at Walmart is the one most of us see when we walk in the store a cashier, stock clerk, greeter or floor manager roaming the store. What you may not know is 93% of them have health insurance and that health insurance through Walmart by an employee can be as low as 5.00 monthly.
Granted, you will not get rich from a job at WalMart but working at a major retailer beats the breadline by miles and can be a good career move for a lot of people. There are many people that have been with them for a years and years. A safe and secure job, decent pay, employee discounts and good benefits all come into play when you are an employee at WalMart.
Walmart beats the competition. They offer the same product at a cheaper price. That means they are more efficient then their competitors. Since when was being successful a crime? Let's look at a scenario. Let's pretend YOU made a new website. Let's say your new website competes with Google. Your new website is amazingly efficient, user friendly, and always gets the best search results. You start making millions of dollars.
Wal-Mart offers more than just a chance at "getting a job." This company is successful in large part because of employee excellence; it loves promoting and rewarding people who work hard at providing the best customer service possible. If you're looking for career advancement or a chance at a position with room to grow quickly straight out of college, you may want to consider joining their team.
The Walmart corporate web site is understandably built around customer sales and service with the focus on locating products available to customers and stores the customer can visit. Walmart's web site is quite a bit friendlier to use for the average job seeker than most corporate sites. So while the individual interested in job openings can locate the information on the corporate site without much difficulty, the quickest and easiest way to work through the process of finding out what jobs are available and where they are located, filling out and submitting a job application, and awaiting notification is through one of the many sites that are not directly affiliated with Walmart.
Store managers make very nice money and receive great training, a very nice retirement plan, health, life and dental with vacation pay to boot. If you were to look into it, you would see that an employee at Walmart can have health insurance for just 5.00 a month. That in and of itself is a good reason to consider a job at Walmart as health insurance rates are just about through the roof.
Perhaps most importantly, innovation may be stifled in a standardized, routinized, conforming workplace. Great leaps in productivity, significant inventions, new products or services, major transformations have not occurred as a result of incremental improvements made by process oriented employees and managers.
Have you ever started a new job and didn't know everyone's name until the third month? Or what about the organization for whom you've contributed ten years and still don't know the name of that curly haired girl from the second floor? Let's face it: people are terrible with names. It's the single context of human memory most apt to be forgotten.
