It happened again. You have a very satisfied customer who is bragging about your business to another potential customer. Word of mouth is the best advertising there is - right? So here is the problem. How do you make that testimonial get legs and ad value to your business reputation for months and even years. Bribe them - Tell them that there is a slick $10 bucks in it for them if they will go do it. Honestly this is not a bad price to pay for the testimonial considering the number of people who will come across the review and the positive affect it will have on you local listing rank.
Make them feel special - Send an e-mail explaining that you consider them in the top 5 of your most loyal customers and if they could take a moment to enter a few comments about the things they like best about your business.
Reciprocation - Hey everybody needs reviews. Contact some other businesses that you like and see if you can leave reviews on each other's listings and directories. If you are part of an organization of local businesses you could actually make it an agenda for the organization. You will be helping one another.
A side benefit to getting reviews on your internet listings is that you can take those very same reviews and use them in your website, your brochures, your books, your media, and in your marketing campaigns in all their forms.
