And there's the television series Fringe, tackles about a Fringe division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation which uses unpermitted fringe science in order to investigate a series of unexplained, and often apparently ghastly occurrences. Much of the story arc for Fringe involves a parallel universe that mostly mirrors the prime universe, but with numerous historical idiosyncrasies. The Fringe Division of the FBI investigates cases and crimes that are related to the newest study in science, ranging from transhumanist experiments which turned out to be a fiasco and even the prospect of a destructive technological singularity to a possible collision of a legendary pair of parallel universes. The division's work often intersects with advanced biotechnology developed by a company called Massive Dynamic , plus to make up for all the good stuff, there's this group of egg-bald pale men who call themselves "the Observers".
