You would be hard to find a better example of a movie ruined by trying to be too much for too many people that Red Riding Hood, which opens on Friday and, by all rights, should close on Saturday.
Valerie (Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie's older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark...

The most obvious public Bell is expected to attract fans of the Twilight movie series, engage the first film director, Catherine Hardwicke, and the renovation of the Little Red Riding Hood, the folk tale, in a remarkable way to stockings, a love triangle between three extremely interesting characters. (If the three had been eaten by the wolf in the first act, which could have been something.)
The strange thing about Bell, who inexplicably has Leonardo DiCaprio as one of its producers (stick to swimming in ice water, Len), is that this romantic view is not their primary objective. It has no central idea.
In fact, for a course more sexy take on a classic folktale, is in desperate need to push in general.
Hovering around the idea of being a popular tale for adults, but never compromises. Throw a little (very bad) action CGI werewolf attack occasionally, but nowhere near enough violent or bloody (it PG-13) to fans of action or horror interest. Campy is fun moments, specifically every second Gary Oldman appears as a sinister Cardinal Richelieu-type, but other scenes are played ridiculously straight.
Perhaps the biggest mistake of the movie - and that's saying something - is itself structured like a movie Scream. The Big Bad Wolf is actually a werewolf, and our sweet little red (named Valerie, played by Amanda Seyfried) must determine which of its neighbors in the village becomes a beast when the moon is full. Do their forbidden love, the dull as a dishwasher Pedro (Shiloh Fernandez), is equivalent to assuming that the hunter folk tale? Or is the man who has been willing to marry, even the somewhat more subdued Henry (Max Irons)? Or is one of the other villagers so boring? And given how boring is Valerie, who the hell cares?
Looks alone, perhaps Seyfried is perfectly cast as Red, considering Christina Ricci might be a bit too old for the role. Seyfried pristine, alabaster skin and huge eyes make Red only looks good but every time he opens his mouth, Werewolf is asking to put out of our misery.
To be fair, no actor can be expected to excel as corny dialogue and uninspired direction Hardwicke, solid veterans such as Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie and Lukas Haas struggle to make an impression with the best supporting Christie. As a parent Red, Billy Burke seems more divided in areas outside of James Franco at the Oscars, which suggests that it is only here for a connection to Twilight more.
Oldman is acquitted only, simply because it campfest movie as it should have been in the opening credits. He is acting in a completely different film, a romp as Sam Raimi Army of Darkness or Drag Me to Hell, and Red Riding Hood becomes almost a brief diversion for Oldman most animated scenes.
The film does not even look that great in a technical sense: The exteriors look fake, all clearly filmed in studios, not intentionally false, "that is a greater reality of your dreams, because it is a popular story" is . Are false in a "we really aspire to our jobs" way.
Little Red Riding Hood Full Movie Online passed through a darker, more adult take on the folk tale, but it is hardly the first: Neil Jordan mining the territory in 1984 with the R-rated Company of Wolves, focusing more on the sexual metaphors and action wolf heavy. It was not great, but at least I knew what I wanted to be. Little Red Riding Hood tries to be a bit of everything, but in the end only succeeds in being a tedious mess.
