Bangalore is well connected with Nagpur by air, rail and road. Kingfisher is the major airline connecting the two cities. Other airlines like Air India, IndiGo, and Jet Airways have also direct or stopover flights from Nagpur to Bangalore. The distance by air is 922 km. The flights take one hour and 45 minutes to travel this distance.
There are only two daily trains between Nagpur and Bangalore. They are New Delhi-Bangalore Karnataka Express (No.12628) and Patna-Bangalore Sangamitra Express (No.12296). Besides, there are more than half a dozen trains which run on certain days of the week.
These trains (with the days of operation in brackets) are Nizamuddin-Bangalore Rajdhani Express No.12430 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays), Gorakhpur-Bangalore Express No.12591 (Saturdays), Nizamuddin-Yeshwantpur Sampark Kranti Express No.12650 (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays), Dharbhanga-Yeshwantpur Bhagmati Express No.12577 ((Tuesdays), Nizamuddin-Bangalore Rajdhani Express No.12494 (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays), Nizamuddin-Yeshwantpur Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express No.12630 (Wednesdays, Fridays) and Nizamuddin-Coimbatore Kongu Express No.12648 (Wednesdays). The trains take 21 hours and 30 minutes to cover the distance. The Rajdhani Express trains, however, take lesser time.
Though Nagpur-Bangalore route is well connected by trains, many travellers go by road also. Buses are available from Nagpur to Bangalore and they charge a rate of about Rs.3 per kilometre. The bus takes about 19 hours to travel from Nagpur to Bangalore.
On the other hand, the taxi cabs charge a rate ranging from Rs.16000 to Rs.25000 (one way). The taxis travel the distance in about 17 hours. The road route passes through Wardah, Ruyadi and Hyderabad.
