Ways To Enjoy The Party: Halloween Games For Children

Planning a Halloween party for children can be fairly easy

. You just need to decorate the place with jack-o-lanterns and cobwebs and prepare food such as bloody punch and eyeball jellies. However, the real challenge lies in the games you want the children to play. It can be extremely difficult to keep their attention and you might just need more than one game to have them entertained. Fortunately, there are a lot of Halloween party games such as a scavenger hunt or costume contest.

One of the traditional games in a Halloween party is bobbing for apples. This has a simple set up- a tub with water and apples is all you need. This game can be played in several ways. One, you can have each children to take turns getting an apple from the tub. Another, you can have a large tub with several players competing to get an apple. You can also have an apple relay where you can set up two tubs with apple and have members from two teams retrieve an apple each.

A Halloween scavenger hunt or treasure hunt is also an ideal party game. Scavenger hunts are exciting party fillers since the children will have the chance to explore the neighborhood searching for clues, answering riddles or doing tasks. However, you must set a time limit and keep the list simple to make the search easier. Adults should also accompany the children when they play this game.

Another interesting game is the eyeball relay race. You can use ping-pong balls and design them to look like ghastly and bloodshot eyeballs. Divide the children into two teams and give them a plastic spoon each. Set up the course of the race and then have the children lined up at the starting point. Each member of the team would have to pass through the obstacle with the eyeball on their spoons. If the eyeball falls off the spoon, the member would have to go back to the start once again. The first team to pass through the course wins.

One of the challenging Halloween games is ghost hunter. You can cover a lollipop with tissue or white fabric and design it to look like a ghost. In this game, the children will look for clues around the house in order to find the ghosts. You can use word clues such as pumpkins, headless, cat or witch for young children while riddles can be suitable for older children.

Another popular game is the candy witch hunt. In this game, children will look for the witch who stole the candies and follows her trail. Candy witch hunt, like the Halloween scavenger hunt game, uses clues to trace the witchs location and find the bag of treats.
