Shopping, charitythey seem to be the furthest thing from each other. However, in order to donate, most of the time it requires a tiny bit of shopping. But the question ishow exactly can you help out?

1. Clothing.

People in need normally need nice warm clothes. Popular items are coats, pants, shoes and the like. However, you have to understand that these only keep a person warm on the bottom most layer and sometimes even this isn't enough. You can also help them by buying five packs of tee shirts and the like. You don't have to spend too much, but a little bit certainly helps.

If you buy clothing, you can buy either new or gently used. This may mean a quick trip to the thrift store, but you need to keep in mind that most of the time you can find these items cheap at your local Wal-Mart

2. Food.

Food is also a big and important thing that you can donate. However, you have to understand that there are certain items that are more important. Canned vegetables are normally a good idea, as are boxes of pasta and the like. Make sure that everything you provide is within the sale date and that you check the local shelter or charity in order to find out what they need the most. You might be able to find these things for a good price and really help someone out.

3. Change.

Certain charities are always looking for a few extra dollars especially if it's as easy as dropping a coin or two into a jar that they can easily transfer. This way they can buy what they need without having to ask anyone for certain items. They can go through and find everything that they need. You don't even have to worry about what they need. Simply give a dollar or two and your job is done.

4. Shoppingcharity shopping.

And then you have charity shopping. So you're wonderingwhat on earth is this? Well, it's the easiest way that you can donate, especially if you don't have the time to go searching for food for your local food bank or don't have change most of the time. Not only is this method super quick, but it's also way easier.

All that you have to do is go to your local shopping charity site and then progress to your favourite sites. You don't have to worry about having enough change or anything like that because the sites donate for you. You pay no extra.

These are just a few ways that you can contribute to your local charities but there are plenty of other ways. One is volunteering. More often than not, people need volunteers. Even if it means helping out single mothers at a homeless shelter once a month, it's still more than most people do. You can also help out at your local animal shelter. Keep in mind that you only need to use the time that you have free.
