Ways to Make Edible Hedgehog Craft
If you are teaching your kids how to eat healthy foods for main course and snacks, you need to think of ways to encourage them. One way to do this is through craft making. It's really hard to think of several ideas to make them enjoy your simple idea. One of the best things you can introduce to them is the hedgehog craft making techniques.
Since this is edible, you can also let them eat later on after the process. This can be the 1st move you may introduce to them to encourage them to be productive during summer time and this will also make them improve their eating habits. Most of the time, kids loves to play with foods and restricting them to do so can have bad effect later on in life.
In this craft making process, you don't have to restrict your kids to play with foods because afterwards they will eat what they did. What you need to do is to gather all the information and materials needed for the hedgehog making strategy. You need to just follow these simple techniques:
Gather all the ingredients such as these:
melons for the hedgehog body. You can also use watermelon since this is much harder and bigger to hold lots of sticks for the fruits and vegetables.
Grapes and blueberries for the nose and eyes. You can also use some other small fruits or even candies if you like. This is to add colours too.
For the foods on sticks, you need toothpicks
Mangoes cut into cubes
Cherries
Cheese
Watermelon salad cheese
Grapes
Crackers
Hotdogs
Carrots
Make sure that all these ingredients for the sticks are all cut into cubes.
You can start by placing 3 sticks inside the melon or watermelon on the front side. This will be the preparation to hold the eyes and nose of the hedgehog. Let your kids do the placing of the sticks and tell them that this is meant for the eyes and nose.
Prick melon skin using a skewer. Place on the sticks with feta and watermelon, brie and mangos, together with some other ingredients you have.
Alternately, you can also put hotdogs on a stick and put some mushrooms, olives, and tomatoes on it. You can also replace carrots for olives since not all kids would love the taste of the olives. You can cut the carrots in cubes too or in a circle form.
Serve with crackers.
This hedgehog craft is simple and easy to do. It is also great for birthdays and other special occasions. It can also be a perfect table centrepiece on a fine day. Teach your kids to love animals and appreciate the nutrients nature can bring the combination of fruits and vegetables are here so it will be great to convince your kids to eat fruits and vegetables too. Share a bonding moment with your kids while teaching them to be productive and appreciative of the foods on the table.
