Absenteeism in the workplace costs businesses and the economy as a whole dearly. Example schemes include subsidised gym membership, free fruit, stop-smoking programmes and healthy canteen food. Reward good attendance A reward for staff with a good attendance record can motivate staff. This could be a monthly or annual bonus for members of staff with over a 95% attendance, for example.
