Another way which you can profit from and make a descent income stream is from online discussion. The purpose of online discussion is to help people communicate through using the internet. It is free to create your own group and with in minutes you can make announcement lists, mailing does not require you to have any knowledge in building a website (although it is the same as having one) and it is a good way to make money. If you choose a niche topic, for example, "dealing with Crohn's Disease" or something else that is specific, you will most likely be the only one and people will go to it for information. You can have Google AdSense ads running down one side of the site (some groups allow this feature and some do not) providing more topic related information and you can also become an affiliate with a topic related merchant to really cash in on the targeted traffic that your forum.

Millions of people congregate online everyday in forums, discussion groups or meeting places to address every topic every topic imaginable. People always have questions and are on a never ending search for answers and solutions to their ailments, worries and pains. This provides you an opportunity to join in and offer advice as well as subtly or tactfully promote a product or service. This is a cost free method, and requires skill and patience, which you will develop through trial and error. Your purpose is not to spam or provide false information or to push a product on anyone. The first step is to signup with an affiliate program that you would like to promote-something that you stand behind as a great product or service offered( and hopefully one which has a decent affiliate commission as well).
Once you sign up for a particular affiliate program to promote, the place in which you signed up with will give you a unique affiliate website address. That website address is the one you will use to promote that particular affiliate program.
Affiliate links are all setup differently according to the varying affiliate programs. Just be sure to double check the link you are given before you post it anywhere or share it with anyone if you want to make sure you get credit for any and all sales made through that link.
Second step is to find popular online forums, networks or discussion groups that you can join. Be prepared and aware that although this method can make you money right away, it is a method which should be use cautiously. Your purpose is not to join a forum and immediately post an affiliate link, telling people to buy a certain e-book or product. That will get you kicked out of the forum. A couple of years ago it would have been easier for you to get away with doing that and you probably could have made some quick money. These days it is considered SPAMMING, so avoid doing that at all costs.
Now, if you would like to make money from forum posting, you should join the forum and participate in the discussions. You can create a signature which will show up underneath your name in each post you make and in that signature you can create a link to your affiliate program. That way, every time you post others will see your link underneath signature and if they are interested or the text grabs their attention, then they may click on it and you may get more sales. This whole forum activity has been very profitable for me with several of my affiliate programs.
Most forums also have sections, which say "Advertise Here" as the forum moderator may prefer to only allow advertisements or affiliate promotions in the advertisement section. Rules are much more stringent in forums related to making money online, rather than forums related to specific interests, support groups or other no-marketing groups.
You may be surprised, but if you are active member in an online community, the link in your signature will not go unnoticed and you should be able to make some cash from it (as long as you are promoting a reputable product that people are in need of). Not only can you make money from the forum visitors purchasing products through your link, but also the search engines pick up forum posts regularly and if that occurs, others who find the site through doing research online may read your post and click through your link to make a purchase.
If you are having trouble finding forums related to your affiliate program of choice, just go to Google or another search engine and type in some phrases related to your affiliate program. Example: if I were to promote an e-book about "how to make money or small homebusiness online" then I will type in phrases like

Before you post in a forum, be sure to read RULES for that particular forum, some forums do not allow affiliate links, as others do not. Some forums are moderated and you can post ads free.
Choosing a forum to post in should depend upon what you are interested in promoting.
You can post a short attention grabbing ad (either in the main part of the forum or in the advertising section) to draw people in. you can then place a website link in your ad to your affiliate website.. just have a look at the given example below
For instance if you are promoting an e-book about "Dog Training", so you're a might like
"Urgent- read report about dog training tips that changed my life"
For free report go to:http://websiteadrress.affiliatenetwork.com (this is just an example of an affiliate address)
A good way to hide this long affiliate link so that people want see, is to write your website address which you wish your ad to be referred to. (e.g. www.dogtraining.com)
Then you click on hyperlink button, a box will appear in which you should place you're affiliate in, so in there you are to write http://websiteadrress.affiliatenetwork.com. Just click ok so each time someone clicks on www.dogtraining.com they will be referred to the affiliate link to whichever affiliate network you are promoting you're product with.
When you place your ad, be sure to put keywords you are targeting in Title of the post. If people go to Google and type in "dog training tips"(keyword) you would want your site to show up in the top 10 search results. If you were targeting the key phrase "dog training tips" then the ad above would be acceptable, but it could be tweaked a little more. Whenever possible, put the key phrase you are targeting first, before the rest of the ad. So you could rework the title above to say.
