The definition of advertising may remain the same

, but the importance of it has changed almost drastically over the years. We enter the market and it is flooded with tonnes of products. The agony of a customer is best understood in comparison to a child kept in between tonnes of candies and is asked to choose. It becomes one of the most difficult tasks to pick one product out of many and that itself decides the fate of how effective an advertisement has been in influencing us.

Creative agencies have tried their best to come up with advertisements that evoke an intention to buy a product but how successful they are is just a matter of fact, the consumers choice. Ad makers have found a new way of luring the kids to get their job done. Kids now more or less become the decision influencers of the family and take part in major purchases too. Create such a picture that is totally irresistible and lure the child to just lift his hand up and just say three words "i want that" and thats it, more than half your job is done.

Advertising is no longer just a fancy for a consumer. It is no wonder how brand conscious our society has become that the popularity of the product is starting to determine its quality too. Advertising has evolved over a period of time and now has become a part of our lives so much so that if we just look around our rooms, we will realize that we are flooded with names that have made their presence felt through advertisements. Media convergence has taken it to the peak in publicizing each and everything resulting in commercialization. Even a product as small as a pin wants to make it through to the consumer and advertising provides a platform. Whether morally correct or not or whether left at the discretion of the customer, we have to agree that it has become an inseparable part of our lives today.
