We are naturally equipped to distinguish between good and evil! Why?

Every one of us is naturally equipped to make a clear distinction between good and evil, right and wrong. No human being is bereft from such an inborn mechanism. Even the most terrible of psychopaths would distinguish between good and evil. Every person has this inner system of discerning good and evil good and bad, right and wrong. This appliesto all our mechanisms (mental, psychological, physical and spiritual).

Our mind knows when a good thought or an evil one passes, or made up, or figured out. Killing your own mother who gave you life and care is a heinous criminal thought, let alone feeling it and let alone physically executing this idea. Saving a baby's life from fire or drowning would be a good deed applauded by all humanity.

Even a Mafiosi who kills, or steals, knows precisely the wrong and the evil he is doing. Mafiosis kill during the week and they go to church on Sundays.

But there must be a distinction between knowing and feeling the evil doing on the one hand and putting it into action, on the other. Knowing and feeling you are doing wrong by committing murder does not mean that this stops you from committing murder.

Hitler, Paul Pot, Ben Ladden and Al Capone, knew very well they were doing wrong, but they nevertheless executed their evil and put it into reality.

Evil and good tendencies are inborn ones and everyone have them. The faculty of distinction between the two is as powerful and as acute and exact as the tendencies towards good and evil. Everyone distinguishes between good and evil, and everyone has the capacity to go either way, in thought, in feeling and in action.

This gives the entire responsibility to man himself. For if man is a machine only sensing and acting like robots then there is no freedom and hence no responsibility. But mans the freedom, the will and hence the responsibility of his own thoughts, feeling and actions.

This logic leads by necessity to a purpose, even to thinking of a pre-plan and finally to a judgment. For why the hell should we have tendencies towards good and evil? Why should have the mechanism of discerning and distinguishing between the two? And why finally, should we have the freedom and will to think and act in either way?

Does this not suggest a judgment? A Judgment where every person is brought to account for his own good and evil? Death especially terminates a life spent between these two tendencies with the result awaiting you at the end!
