Since the weathers fast cooling in most places, this is a great time to pull out your favorite leggings pieces. These fantastically versatile and comfortable garments have been around since the 80s but many women still hesitate to wear them out of a fear that they wont be able to really pull off such a look. However, while it is true that leggings can be tricky at times, you can still put together an outfit that will flatter your shape with a little bit of care.

Dresses and tunics are one of the most flattering bekleidung to wear with your favorite leggings. Not only does the combination add a bit of fun and quirkiness to the look, the leggings can also help you wear an otherwise too short dress comfortably.

First of all, remember that leggings are for casual not formal wear. They work best for a day out shopping with your friends, catching a movie or even an evening at the pub. But do not wear them to a cocktail party, a reception etc. Even the most expensive or elaborate pair of leggings will come across as being too casual and bohemian for these occasions.

Another thing to keep in mind is the respective lengths of the various pieces of bekleidung in your outfit. For example, take a pair of three quarter length leggings. These can work great with a short dress (though it will take a certain amount of pizazz to pull off) but definitely not with anything that falls below the knee. The lengths of the two pieces will end up clashing, leading to a fashion f aux pas.

Next, pay attention to the mix of colors and patterns in your look. Your outfit needs to be in balance. Too many conflicting designs, colors and patterns can make it look too busy. Instead, balance out your look by pairing a plain monochrome set of leggings with a bold patterned dress or a neutral shade of bottoms with a boldly colored one. Think about it, the last thing you need when wearing say a rich plum colored dress are bright red leggings.

Finally, pay particular attention to the fit of your bekleidung. Your leggings should flow smoothly down your legs without bunching up. Too long a pair can lead to unsightly rumples that will spoil the line of your outfit
