Weather Cools Down And Flagstaff Az Hotels Heat Up

One of the ways Arizonans beat the summer heat is with a trip to the northern part of the state such as Flagstaff

. Phoenix temperatures hover near 115 in the summer but the Flagstaff area is typically 10 to 15 degrees cooler. As you can imagine, hotels in Flagstaff, AZ are very busy all summer long. Flagstaff is one of the areas of Arizona that gets snow, so lots of Phoenicians head up there to see some of the white stuff. The storm happened in three phases. The first two rounds dumped about 20 inches of snow on the city while round three added an additional few inches. On January 20th, and for the first time in history, Northern Arizona University (NAU) had a delayed schedule. This was one heck of a storm.

As you can imagine, with all this snow, winter skiing is at its peak. Arizona Snowbowl is one of the most popular destinations in northern Arizona and is located just 14 miles from the city of Flagstaff. Snowbowl offers features 32 skiing trails serviced by 4 lifts for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. In addition, they offer skiing instruction as well as ski and snowboard rentals.

So, although Flagstaff helps Arizonans cool off in the summer, it also helps them rev things up in the winter with fabulous skiing and other winter activities.
