The rainy season in Bangkok coincide with the European and North American summers and is not be a bad time to visit Bangkok, especially if tourists are able to plan their sightseeing activities in the morning and then engage in indoor activities in the afternoon including shopping at complexes, visiting aquariums, temples or getting pampered in a spa. An umbrella is a must-have accessory for locals and tourists during this season.

The typical feature of the monsoon season include torrential rains for about 30 minutes, night rain, occasional clear skies and overcast days with little or no rain.Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok is spread across an area of 1,568.737 sq. km. With no mountains, Bangkok has many canals and passages that divide the area into separate patches of land. This feature has given Bangkok the title of being the Venice of the East'.
