6. Keep your message short, remember less is more. Wordy banners tend to be unfocused and messy to look at. Simple banners are proven to be more effective at delivering higher CTRs.

7. Banners must be linked to a specific page. If your banner indicates that you're selling computer softwares, make sure that you direct them towards the product page, and not on the homepage. Don't let them hunt for the information because this is just annoying on their part.


8. Regularly refresh or change your banners. Fact is, the value or appeal of CTRs significantly drop after 2 weeks. Conversely, CTR increases when there is a new banner.

Banners must go through a period of testing until you find the most effective one. You can do this by running your banner over a period of time and measure the results afterwhich, through CTRs and sales. Banner designs that yielded the highest result must be the type of banners to use for your banner campaigns.
