Add green vegetables, whole wheat breads and grains, healthy protein foods like soy, egg whites and lean chicken. Drink 8 ounce glasses of water a day.

Now that you are turning towards a healthy lifestyle, why not do a bit of exercise. There are three basic areas that your exercise program should cover cardiovascular exercise, weight training and stretching. Start with basic exercises like walking and then workout into several short ones throughout the day, as it can suit your schedule. In the beginning you can do simple exercises on your own. As you progress, you can begin with hand weights or weight machines. Stretching exercises are considered safe if you have done some form of cardio exercises before, so that your muscles are warmed up a bit and ready for lengthening they will receive from the stretches.
