? Take a look at some of these weird and strange laws only found in the Southeastern United States:
Florida
- Doors of all public buildings must open outwards.
- It is illegal to sell your children. No word on whether children can sell their parents...
- You can be fined for falling asleep under a hair dryer in a salon.
- Having relations (ahem) with a porcupine is illegal. Not to mention, painful.
- If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, you must pay the parking fee. Guess that means youll have to ride the giraffe to work...
Georgia
- On second thought, dont ride that giraffe. In Atlanta you cannot tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or lamppost
- A man also cannot ride another mans back in Atlanta.
- In Columbus, it is illegal to for bars to hold a Ladies Night. It is also illegal for stores to sell cornflakes on Sunday. You also cant cut off a chickens head on Sunday. So what can you do in this town?
- In Jonesboro, it is illegal to say, Oh, boy in public.
- In Quitman, cars are not allowed to drive on sidewalks.
North Carolina
- It is against the law to sing off-key.
- Elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields.
- Bingo games may not last over five hours unless it is held at a fair.
- In Charlotte, women must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of cloth at all times. I wonder if someone actually measures this.
- In Dunn, it is illegal to drive cars through city cemeteries for pleasure.
- In Rocky Mount, you must pay a property tax on your dog.
Alabama
- Bear wrestling matches are prohibited.
- You are not allowed to drive barefoot.
- You may not have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at any time. Ewww!
- It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle. Gee, I feel safer already.
- In Anniston, you may not wear blue jeans on Noble Street.
- In Mobile, it is illegal to howl at ladies within the city limits. Guess that includes wolf whistles?
