It is estimated that by 2025, India will be number one in the world with the maximum number of people with diabetes. According to the Indian Diabeticsthese people will be in the age group 40 and 64.
According to the research increasing consumption of junk foods is the major cause of diabetes in India. Indian diabetics suggests fiber-rich, low-fat and low-sugar diet can greatly help in preventing diabetes. Indian spices like turmeric, fenugreek and cinnamon can also be used to prevent diabetes. Regular intake of bitter gourd juice and Indian blackberry is also an effective prevention remedy. Above all, foods with high glycemic index should be avoided and the intake of beverages should also be limited. Like these so many remedies are provided by Indian Diabetics.
The Indian Diabetics task force is specialized for Diabetes care in India, it is a group made up of number of doctors and consultants specializing in diabetes treatment. An advisory board that includes diabetes dieticians, diabetes exercise trainers, and offers Diabetes related tools and has come up with recommendations specific to the concerns of Indian diabetics. These include more exercise, cutting portion sizes of traditional foods and modifications to traditional recipes. The recommendations include separate guidelines for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. In addition, diabetic education is recommended for those in high-risk groups.
