Were You Also A Victim Of The Iphone Alarm Clock Bug Today Morning?

One of my friends complained to me that he almost missed his flight to CES for woke up an hour and a bit late yesterday morning.

I had a hunch that more problems were waiting to happen. I'm running iOS 4.2.1 on an iPhone 3GS and the daylight savings bug is still very much not fixed for me (with both repeating and non-repeating alarms, and with newly entered alarms and so on). I spent way too much time reading forums and articles for ideas of 'fixes' and none of them worked for my iPhone. In the end I just told my iPhone I was living in Sydney (I live in Brisbane) and set the time manually back to Brisbane time. I've had alarms go off at the correct time since doing that. As long as the iPhone is still incredibly useful (and fun) even without a reliable alarm, and especially considering that most people will most likely never experience a problem, I don't believe these alarm bugs are a deal breaker for potential iPhone users. I think, we should mainly use iphone as a smartphone. A reliable alarm is about as important to a smartphone as pretty much anything.
