Westport New Audi Technology May Take Red Lights Out Of Your Future

Audi is cruising into some new technology that will one day allow drivers to drive the perfect speed avoid stopping at traffic lights

. In Germany, this system is being tested and has been dubbed Travolution. It works by linking the vehicles communication system with traffic signals and can eliminate much of the stress of city driving. Customers of the local Westport used Audi dealer love this idea and cant wait to see it arrive at an intersection in their city!

The system calculates the necessary speed to keep traffic flowing after communicating with traffic devices and displays the correct speed for the driver. Audi estimates that implementing such a system could not only cut time spent waiting at traffic lights, but help drivers save up to 17 percent on fuel.

Westport new Audi dealers believe this technology will eventually be useful in the United States and that Audi will remain on the cutting edge of developing it. The system also allows for online payment when refueling or parking the vehicle which saves time. The car, in this case, is able to communicate with the equipment at the gas station or parking facility. The driver confirms the charge and it is debited from a bank account or credit card.

So how far off is this Jetson-esque technology from actually being put into vehicles we can buy? Well, no one really knows. A lot will depend on how municipal and state infrastructures are able to be updated to accommodate the technology. With the financial condition of most cities and states in the U.S., money for something like this is probably not at the top of the list. (Unless we suggest it to the federal government as a green project then it would probably get hundreds of millions of tax dollars allocated for it.)

However, if automakers, private investors and corporate sponsors were to adopt a stoplight or kick in somehow to get the infrastructure ready, no doubt automakers could step up their end of development and get this show on the road within a few years.

Westport new Audi customers wont be able to test this out yet unless they want to take a vacation to Germany, but just knowing that the automaker is working on such advances demonstrates their dedication to taking care of the customers.
