What Advantages Do Custom Boards Offer Teachers?

Many teachers are, for some reason, hesitant to have custom boards installed in their

classrooms perhaps they feel that they will be more of a distraction for students who already have difficulties paying attention; perhaps they are worried that they will have to completely change their teaching style. All teachers should give custom whiteboards a chance, however, as they do offer a number of advantages:

It can be a colourful teaching tool

If you get a digital print laminated onto your board, you can turn it into a colourful feature of your room. Research has shown that children respond much better to colour, so this could be a great way to encourage them to pay attention.

It can accommodate all learning styles

Tactile learners (people who learn best through touch) are given the benefit of being able to go to the board and write; audio learners (people who learn best through sound) can still listen to the teacher narrate the lesson; and visual learners (people who learn best through sight) have much more to look at.

Students of all ages respond well

Whilst custom boards were once only used in business and office settings, they have gained a huge popularity in schools. Children from kindergarten age right through to university respond well to the teaching methods promoted by the boards.

It is a clean and attractive tool

The use of a custom board negates the need for messy chalk, which leaves dust everywhere. The engraving, etching and digital prints are also easily cleaned with a standard whiteboard eraser or cloth, making clean up a breeze.

It is useful for meetings and brainstorming

The board allows you to make notes that everyone in the room can see with changes and additions being made quickly and easily. The custom factor means that you can have pre-drawn lines or boxes to make these tasks even easier.

It is a child magnet

Even though children are drawn to regular whiteboards (mostly because they like drawing and colouring), custom boards hold even more of an allure because they have been pre-decorated. Children will play with anything and can make even the dullest of activities more fun.

When teachers are given the option of having a custom board installed in their classrooms, they should always be willing to give them a chance. After all, there are a number of benefits associated with these boards that you simply do not get with a regular whiteboard, and you would be crazy to give them up because of some silly fears.
