What Are The Main Types Of Miter Saws ?
When it comes to doing any type of home improvement
, having a panel saw or miter saws can be of great value! In fact, a miter saw is a very important saw when cutting such things as baseboards or trim for windows. If you need to cut straight edges or angles, then the basic miter saw will be all that you need. Any more than that, you will want to get any of the compound models; however, that will depend on your budget and needs.
When it comes to the compound miter saw, you will be able to make angles that are horizontal or even straight cuts (such as the basic miter saw); however, you will also be able to cut bevels because of the tilting motor. The basic miter saws won't have this feature because the saws don't tilt and also because they are mostly stationary on a miter saw stand; which makes them more durable. Also, because the basic miter saw is so light weight and dependable, they can be carried from job to job.
Another type of saw that many people use is the dual powered compound saws; which are also known as the double bevel saws. Like the typical compound saw, they cut straight and horizontally but they can also tilt in either direction; which makes it easier to make beveled edges. Also, it is a more versatile saw than the basic compound saw.
When it comes to cutting larger pieces of wood, many people prefer to use a sliding compound saw. It is similar to the basic compound saw, but the difference is that the sliding saw can be moved forward as the wood is being cut.
When it comes to the technology of the compound saws, the dual-compound sliding saw has the highest. When they are being used, they can tilt in both directions as well as be able to cut miters and bevels. Also, they can be slid forward; which works great for wide pieces of wood. The best thing is that they can be easily transferred from your home to work.
Another saw that is very versatile is the radial arm saw; which is great for as the basic bench saw. In fact, you are able to do many things with it; such as crosscutting, dado work and ripping stock. Also, you can tilt it for cutting bevels and miters as well as rout them for drilling stock.
When getting a blade, the size will be determined by the thickness of the board you will be using. Also, you will have to choose a saw that has all the cross cutting ability that you need.
When going to a lumber yard, you will often see a panel saw. They are made to cut very large sheets of wood. In fact, panel saws are mostly used for cutting plywood, particleboard and paneling; as well as different sizes of boards.
When contractors are building new homes or doing home repairs, they will be using any of the common saws; as many of them are now being made portable. Because many models are portable, they are the best thing for people to get; especially if you move from job to job!
