Here is one of those questions that our clients really should ask of us: Are there any limitations when using perfect fit clip in blinds?
Good question this one, and it is worth spending some time discussing this so you dont get any nasty surprises!
1) As you may know by now each blind comes in its own frame, each blind is supported at the ends and the sides when drawn. If you have a triangular blind the narrow end will draw down to the wide end. Now this will only work if the triangle is right angled ie. The blind must have a square corner to it.
Now if the triangular shape does not have a right angle to it this is now called an obtuse triangle. This means the blind can NOT be drawn and will have to be a fixed blind.
2) Another thing is that with long blinds (particularly in lean to conservatories) the blind cannot be made over 3 metres long. So if you have a long blind what we do is split it into 2 pieces. Although this makes the installation more expensive it does mean you have more flexibility with the finished item because you can have one blind drawn and one closed in the same panel.
3) One major hold back with perfect fit clip in blinds can in some instances be the clips themselves! What we mean by this is that you must have a rubber membrane in the roof of your conservatory for the clips to be pushed into. If you can't see a black rubber membrane in your roof you will not be able to have clip in blinds. This is, it must be said normally only a problem in wooden conservatories.
Of course at the end of the day there are serious advantages to using Perfect Fit blinds, they keep cleaner as less flies can get in. They are easier to clean, as they are easy to clip out also. They have better heat properties due to being enclosed. They look better than traditional pleated blinds. Lastly and probably most importantly they dont need any holes drilled to fit them!
