What Exactly Is Green Cleaning?
What's green cleaning? We learn early in life that cleaning is an important activity in life
. And today, anything "green" has connotations of protecting Earth's environment. But what exactly is cleaning of the "green" variety? Here are some crucial facts about this type of tidying:
1. It often includes products packaged in recycled materials.
This further provides benefits to the environment. It means that both the household cleaner and its packaging will be environmentally-friendly. If you use a non-toxic cleaner in a non-biodegradable container, you're not maximizing your protection of the environment. However, you can achieve that goal by purchasing cleaning products in recycled packages.
2. It involves using non-toxic household cleaners.
You only need to walk outside your house, to discover that the Industrial Age has had a devastating effect on planet Earth. From vehicular exhaust pipes to factory smokestacks, much of the air that we breathe has become hazardous to our health.
However, oftentimes we don't even need to leave our house, in order to experience toxic fumes. Many of today's household cleaners contain various manmade ingredients that sound like a foreign language when we read them. However, our lungs tell us that we don't need a background in Chemistry, to know that such toxic ingredients are harmful to our health. That's why it's crucial to do green cleaning, in order to protect ourselves.
3. It is good for the environment.
More and more people today are concerned about the impact that certain products will have on the environment. That includes household cleaning products. Many of us are concerned about using various cleaners that will negatively impact the Earth's dwindling natural resources. Unfortunately, we can't trade in our planet for a new one! So it's critical that we only use household cleaners that won't further harm the Earth's fragile state.
4. It can include homemade products.
This will not only help to save the Earth, but also your money! Do-It-Yourself household cleaners will be significantly more cost-effective than cleaners purchased from stores. And as an added bonus, they can be just as effective!
5. It can protect your skin and lungs.
This is yet another benefit of green cleaning. Other cleaning products can cause damage to your health, simply by contacting your skin, or being inhaled by your lungs. What makes the situation exponentially worse is that houses are mostly enclosed. That means that the harsh chemicals can become trapped within the confines of your home, and negatively impact your lungs and skin for a prolonged period of time. So "green" cleaning is definitely better.
If you want to clean your house without harming yourself or the environment, then consider "green" cleaning. You'll be blue wondering why you hadn't started making "green" a part of your cleaning regimen--sooner.
