What the heck is that corn in the hole game? During my first encounter, corn-filled bags were flying through the air, people were waiting to play next, the music was jamming and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Some people may call it: corn in the hole, baggo, bean bag toss, bean toss, however, the official name of it is, Cornhole. This game consists of two boards made out of plywood with a hole cut out of it and eight bags that are filled with corn.

Cornhole is a game that was invented more recently in the Midwest and is and has spread across the nation. You will encounter others playing it at your local bars, family reunions, tailgating events before the big football game and tournaments everywhere.

People are hosting cornhole tournaments for charities, but also to make a little extra money and have a good time. Usually the top winners of a cornhole tournament are awarded a purse that could be up too 100% payout.

If you become good enough, you may also travel around to cornhole events across the nation to earn money. You will have to place in the top 3 to have a chance of earning cash.

Most individuals enjoy a casual backyard environment playing the game. During family gatherings, holidays and birthdays it is commone to see a cornhole game going on in your neighborhood.

There is more often two teams of two people that play against each other. This is great because it is a team game, which means winning relies not only upon yourself but your partner as well. So picking a partner may be key to winning a tournament, however, some tournaments have a random draw for choosing partners.

You can also play one on one, this is done by both players being on the same side and walking to the other board at every inning. You can still compete and have just as much fun as a four player game.
