. The other day, someone wrote in and asked "what is the lowest price that nutrisystem offers and how can I get it?" I'll answer this question (and tell you how to save the most money on this diet) in the following article.
The Cheapest Nutriystem Package The Nutrisystem Flex Plan: Right now, the cheapest plan that the company offers is called Flex Plan. With this one, you eat the company's food for five days and then eat on your own for two days (you'll eat healthy when you're off, of course, but you do have a bit of leeway.) The cost of this program is about $234.95 (for a month) before you take out any savings from money, coupon codes, and discounts. Of course, this program is cheaper because you are getting less food. Rather than being a 28 day package and eating five meals per day every day of the week, the Flex Plan is a 20 day package for only five days of the week.
In essence, you're paying essentially the same per meal and per day (a little over $2 per meal and about $8 per day), but you're paying for less days. Still, the Nutrisystem Flex Plan is very attractive to many because you get two days of a break each week. This gives you something to look forward to, and you don't have to take your break on the weekend, although many do because they want to enjoy the weekend with their families.
The Best Price On The Nutrisystem Women's Plan: If you don't want to take the two days off, the next plan up would be the basic women's plan. The cost of this one is $299 with free shipping if you sign up for monthly delivery and $333 per month if you want to go month to month. Currently, the company is running a promotion that allows you to get $100 off or two weeks for free. With the $100 off, you have to go with the auto ship (where the company will send you your food automatically every month, although you can cancel at any time. )
You can use the free food option with any monthly order. And, this often adds up to more money off. If you think about it, two weeks worth of free food is worth more than $150 and up. So, money wise, this is a better deal, especially if you aren't sure how long you are going to be on this program.
Saving Money On Your Daily Additions: With each of the diet's meals, you're asked to add healthful fresh foods since the diet's foods are prepackaged. This will sometimes be dairy (like yogurt or low fat milk), fruit (like strawberries with cereal), or vegetables. You can save money on these foods by buying fruits and vegetables that are in season and buying other foods in bulk or by volume. Always look at the cost per unit, rather than the cost of the food in general. The only exception to this is that if you have to buy more food than you will actually eat to get the savings. Throwing away food never saves money.
Also, convenience items will always cost you more. Rather than buying individual yogurts, buy a bigger container of the flavors that you know you like. You have to add in with every meal to make sure you are eating enough fresh foods, so you'll easily go through the larger, but cheaper, container.
