The capital of Hungary, Budapest is also the largest city of the country

. The primate city is spread over 525 square kilometers. The metropolis is home to 3.3 million people with flights to Budapest like Air France bringing nearly 9 million passengers to the Ferenc Liszt International Airport every year. The leading airlines there used to be The Malev Hungarian Airlines until its bankruptcy in February 2012.

All the European roads and railway lines pass through the capital, making it the central traffic zone. The Pest County at the north is known to have the majority of housing and commercial areas, with the Danube River dividing it into its two parts, north and south, and the northern being called as the Pest. The Buda County at the south is in the hilly part of the city, with as many as 20 hills here! Then, the religious groups comprise mainly of Christians, followed by Roman Catholics, Calvinists and other Catholics. The Jews consist of only 0.5% of the population.

Budapest is Hungarys most prominent historic point. The operations and Soviet Republic, the wars and revolutions...everything was held in this city. The capital has always been the focal point of Hungary. Today, Budapest has grown to be a World Heritage Site, and also one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe!
