What Should You Do When Encountering a Fake Crash
I think everyone should know the crash. Once finding that the computer is encountering a crash, some computer beginners usually take warm boot or reset start, which more or less give some damage to the computer. But they are not aware that sometimes the computer is not really a crash but a fake one. When meeting with such condition, we should press the button "Numlock". If its indicator light has response, it proves to be a fake crash. However how we should deal with real and fake crash? Many non-responding applications create the fake crash. (For example, it will happen on the condition that you operate several applications at the same time) we should press a combined key "Ctrl+Alt+Del", click "end up the task" to close the programs forcibly in order that the system can run normally. But this operation sometimes doesn't take effect either. Finally we can modify the registry to forcibly end up the programs and power off the computer.
1.Quick closedown of the not-responding programs.
Click "start", and then type "Regedit" at the run box to open the registry editor. Change string-value into 1000 or less than 1000 at HKEY-CURRENT-USER. If this way can't still come to effect, you should only restart. But you can reduce the machine's damage to a maximum limit if you make the modification.
2.Allowing forcible shutdown
Enter HEKY-USERS.DEFAULT Control Panel desktop, set a string-value "AutoEndTask" and change its key assignment as "1" .
3.Auto- reboot at the crash
Enter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-System-CurrentControlSetControlCrashControl, change the key assignment "AutoReboot" to 1 at the right side of the window. The above modification of the registry may be different in different version of Windows. Don't do it if there are no corresponding key assignments. Once you encounter a crash, don't be nervous!
