Braces have been used for a long time to move teeth around, shift them back, move them forward and a host of other movements to strengthen and promote healthier teeth. The process is extremely effective but extremely time consuming. It can literally take years for the braces to work. Orthodontic implants can effect the same corrections in half the time no less than.

Typical braces depend on other healthy teeth to be attached to; with orthodontic implants the teeth are not as important as the jaw bones. The appliance is implanted right into the bone to move and shift the teeth.

Although the process sounds painful it is no more painful than braces are, and the up side is that they are actually healthier of the teeth. There is less pressure placed on the teeth, and there is less chance of teeth rotting behind the braces, as they often do.

The absolute best benefit is that the amount of time that it takes for the orthodontic implants to work is fully half the amount of time it takes with traditional braces. This is a benefit, obviously because you get the results you need sooner, but also because over time there will probably be less visits to the dentist that will result in lower costs over time.

They aren't only more efficient but believe it or not they are less invasive. They are implanted and only need to be adjusted a couple of times through the course of treatment; where as conventional appliances have to be adjusted each couple of weeks.

This can be a relatively new procedure so the cost is going to be a bit high because there's little competition, but the initial cost is high but it may work out over time with the money that you save by less doctors visits. This makes it more reasonably priced within the long run.

Some dentists offer payment plans which could make the procedure more reasonably priced. There are actually also some finance companies that offer loans for dental work of course there is going to be some interest but it can be somewhat low.
