Biology is the academic discipline that is included in the program of every educational establishment. Students who want to study biology should posses a number of skills.

So, how you should study biology to succeed?

1.The first thing that is crucial is the quality of reading. You should read with a critical eye. It means that you should ask questions to yourself, something like Can you explain it to somebody else? or How can you say it in other words?

2.It is very useful to explain the material to somebody else. It is good for you when you discuss the material with your fellow-student.

3.Another thing is when you are critical during your lectures. Do not leave any question without answer. If you cannot find the answer by yourself, than ask your lecturer.

4.Terminology is another routine of biology, however, it is very important to know and, what is more, to understand all the terms. It is one of the most important keys to success in your study. So, persistence is an important quality of your character as you will have to spend hours to memorize everything.

5.Attentiveness. Attend all lectures and be an attentive listener. Your study of biology presupposes working in the laboratory with different materials. It is important to be attentive and hard working to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice.

6.Some successful students create tests for themselves. First of all, it helps to understand the material, second, it helps to memorize it.

7.Moreover, you should understand the methods of this science. So, the most important skills are laboratory and analytical.

In general, you should be an attentive, persistent and hard working student to be successful in biology.
