A cast bronze urn is made by laying them out in a mold in order to get the design that the family has selected.

There is also the option of a stainless steel urn. These are heavy duty and they are very durable. They can be ordered in different styles like classic, antique or contemporary. These are ideal for a memorial display and for burial.

The ceramic urn is another alternative. These are usually made by hand using porcelain or clay. They will also usually be finished with a hand painted glaze. These urns are delicate and they need to be handled with a lot of care or else they will be break and the ashes will be lost.

It may be necessary to transport ashes from one place to another such as if a loved one passed away in a faraway place or their wish is for their ashes to be scattered in a faraway place. In such a case, the family would need to get airline urns. These are made with materials that make it possible for the urn to pass through security machines without a problem. These funeral urns are usually made from materials like felt and other nonmetallic materials.
