What To Expect From Modern Bathroom Suites

Redeveloping the interior designs of your house is always a major headache and no

more so than when deliberating over the various bathroom suites available. You wouldn't think that a bathroom or kitchen suite could 'go out of date' so to speak, but it seems in the modern day, both require constant updating.

The bathroom is often a room where even the most extravagant of homeowners tends to rein in their designs and opt for a degree of minimalism. Clean white lines, shimmering tiles and clever uses of space tend to mark out the best designed suites from the rest. There has been a recent move towards a slightly more abstract style of bathroom suites, with more curved fixings being replaced with sharper, boxier designs and the sunken hand basin often being swapped for an actual bowl.

Many of the concepts remain the same however, with most suites retaining the elegant look that has emerged since the ever-so scary designs of the eighties. In many ways, the design of your new bathroom is very much dependant on the shape and size of your room. Few rooms within people's houses vary more in those respects than the bathroom, as it is often left until last when the planning of a house is being considered.

White still remains the predominant shade within bathroom suites, to preserve a light and breezy feel. This is often necessary as most bathrooms aren't particularly well lit by windows and the clean, crisp finish reflects and maximises the light that enters the space. Artificial lighting can still lend a lot to a bathroom space however, particularly at night time. Uplighting, illuminated shelving and fairy-style lights can bring a real elegance to the composition of a suite, particularly when combined with well designed and placed ornaments and accessories.

Modern bathroom designs have made more of a provision for eco-friendly considerations, with designs attempting to reduce the amount of water we waste. Sauna-style wooden designs are also making a comeback, with the emphasis in some houses being on creating a 'wet room' rather than a traditional bathroom. This look is very much in vogue at the moment and can help homeowners recreate the warm and welcoming feel of a Swedish sauna within their own home. This is part of an increasing trend towards decking out houses with luxurious bathrooms and making it more than just a room to wash in, but more of a living space.
