What Transport Choices Do You Have When Flying Into Alicante?
One of the most popular airports in Spain, Alicante sees thousands upon thousands
of Brits use it as a gateway to Spain for their summer holidays.
Close to a large selection of popular holiday resorts, flying into Alicante airport means that you can be at your hotel and enjoying the sun, sea and sangria in less than an hour.
However, as Alicante is one of Spain's busiest airports, particularly during the summer months, it can get more than just a little crowded, especially outside when you're about to travel to your hotel.
Therefore, rather than simply opting for the travel arrangement that you usually carry out - or which you planned to carry out as you thought it was the only one - take a look through the following choices to decide what the best transport option is for you.
1. Package transfer - the one that most people take advantage of, the transfer that's included in your package holiday is very often free, organised for you and allows you to grab some rest or enjoy the scenery whilst you get driven to your hotel.
However, trying to find your coach can seem like a nightmare as you're caught up with every other holidaymaker and so for some, package transfers is not a great way to kick off holidays.
2. Private transfer - if you've booked your hotel and flight separately, it's recommended that you contact your hotel directly and ask if they do private transfers.
Meaning you get picked up by someone from the hotel and taken right to the door, it can be one of the more costly options, but it's by far one of the more luxurious and hassle free.
3. Car hire Alicante - if you're planning hiring a car during your stay, why not take advantage of car hire Alicante and pick up your car when you step off the plane?
Best to organise in advance, car hire Alicante is a great option as it means you don't have to arrange a transfer from your hotel to the airport and vice versa, something you'd have to do even if you were hiring a car in the resort itself, due to the fact you can drop the car off at the airport before your flight home.
4. Taxi - in most airports around the world, you'll be able to walk out of the doors and see a row of taxis waiting to take passengers to wherever they want in the resort and Alicante airport is no different.
It's not the cheapest option, but the fact that it requires absolutely no pre planning is a massive selling point for many, as they can simply jump in a taxi and be on their way to their hotel in a matter of minutes.
5. Shuttle bus - before you set off on your holiday, it's worthwhile finding out whether the airport hotel offer a shuttle bus - a small coach that drives in one continuous loop from the airport and around several hotels - as if they do, it's often the cheapest way to get from the airport to the resort outside of using your inclusive package transfer.
