2. Complete training/exams - It is best that you complete an excellent training through the Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) training organizations and pass the Driver CPC module test. After passing the exam and to maintain exceptional driving skills, you may need to do a 35-hour periodic training every five years. Some other tests that you need to pass after the training include theory and hazard perception test and the practical driving test.

3. Excellent driving conduct - As a lorry driver, you need to drive the vehicle with maximum safety, courtesy, and consideration for other vehicles that are using the roads. Good health condition - You need to pass a medical examination and submit a medical certificate to the company ensuring that you are fit to drive or pass the medical standards required for safe driving. The medical standard for driving a lorry is higher because of its size, weight, and the length of time that drivers may spend at the wheel. Anyone who is suffering from a medical condition, such as neurological disorders, cardiovascular disorder, diabetes mellitus, or drug and alcohol dependence may or may not be given the chance to drive or granted license to drive a lorry depending on the severity of the case and some mitigating factors. At some point, companies would require satisfactory medical reports from the doctor, an independent medical examination and, blood test arranged by the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
