If you are interested in entering this profession, you will have to complete a 2 year course from a community college, and you can increase your ability to get a better paying job by continuing to advance your education into some area of legal specialty. You must take English courses to improve your writing, and Social Studies to enhance your people skills. You will be doing the preliminary work which will be used by a lawyer develop a case.

Your earning capacity will depend on where you live, but typically these jobs pay higher in large cities and have good employee benefits. The more schooling you have, the better your chances of getting a job and your salary will be adjusted accordingly.
