Back pain is perhaps the most common type of body pain and if you want to get relief from it, you may try using a TENS machine. The latest versions of the machine already come with an electrical probe that can stimulate the acupuncture points of your body. Of course, the machine also comes complete with instructions that tell you exactly where to place the pads. As long as you read the manual carefully and follow the instructions exactly as they are given, the machine can be the perfect tool for relief from back, head, and neck pain.

Here are a few basic guidelines on how to position the machines electrode pads: For those suffering from joint or muscle pain, the pads must be placed near the source of pain. For those suffering from nerve pain, the pads must be placed on both sides of the spinal column and at the top portion of your legs. First time users are advised to consult their medical specialist about the use of a TENS machine. This is to make sure that you are properly taught how to use the equipment and position the pads. Bear in mind as well that the pads must never be placed over your brain, neck, throat, and eyes.

Remember that the machine allows the user to control the electrical signals, so you should be sure to check the machine settings each time you use it. If you feel any of your muscles twitching, you should be reminded to lower the setting. The right setting makes you feel only a slight tingling sensation. Although this machine has achieved a lot of success in pain relief, take note that not all types of body pains can be relieved by the TENS machine. Therefore, it is still best to consult your doctor about your body pain before trying the machine or any other pain relief option.
