Ramanathaswamy Temple: Ramanathaswamy Temple has been located in the important temples in South India. The temple is popular among the people for 1200 massive granite columns and is the fine example of late Dravidian architecture.
Agnitheertham: To absolve himself from the killing of Ravana, Lord Rama worshiped Lord Shiva here in Agnitheertham which is located at the distance of 100 meters away from Ramanathaswamy Temple. The water of this place is considered sacred and tourists comes specially to take take the holy bath.
Ramjharokha Temple: This temple is situated on the highest point of the island on Rameshwaram, Gandamadana Parvatham which is at 5 kilometers from Rameshwaram. The shrine is having the impression of Lord Rama's feet which has been placed on a Chakra (wheel).
Dhanushkodi: The name of the the place has been done after the Lord Rama's bow (dhanush), Dhanushkodi which is at the distance of 8 kilometers from Rameshwaram. In the year 1964 the Kothandaramaswamy Temple at Dhanushkodi has been destroyed completely by terrible cyclone. In this temple there was the huge temples of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman and Vibhishana (brother of Ravana).
