Backpacks for laptop computers can be found in every size
, style and configuration. Some have the option of rolling on wheels while others are designed to CARRY wheels (as in a combination laptop/skateboard backpack carrier). You'll have no trouble finding endless choices, especially online. The only real problem is deciding which one to get.
I was somewhat surprised at the huge array of available units. Whose job is it to think of the different names for all these different models? My personal favorite was one called "The Distortion." I think the name comes from the pattern printed on the exterior of the pack. When I learned that this case is designed to carry a full-sized laptop computer AND a skateboard I started thinking I was in the wrong neighborhood. It DOES have a lot of room inside there, though.
Big-name luggage makers are active in this market and have some good quality backpacks (mostly rolling) that can hold almost as much as one of their suitcases! These aren't low-cost models (necessarily) but most look to be high quality and utile in function. I guess luggage/briefcase manufacturers would have a handle on how to build a good computer backpack too.
Some purveyors of backpacks deal in high-end, top of the line, A-grade quality goods. Rich Corinthian leather (Ricardo Montalban's trade-marked favorite) will set you back a bit more when it's time to pay up but even doctors and lawyers aren't ashamed to be seen carrying such an accessory. I wouldn't want to put a skateboard in one, though!
As always (and for evermore) the best advice (IMHO) is to bring up some sites online that contain real, live user reviews and read about others' experiences with the item you're considering purchasing. I read the reviews for the 'Distortion'. They were all good.
It came as somewhat of a surprise that so many women are opting for nice backpacks these days to not only carry their personal computers but other personal stuff as well. In effect they're doing away with their purses, shoulder bags and pocketbooks and transferring EVERYTHING to a single accessory... a backpack.
The best laptop backpacks will be the ones that best fit your needs. There's a big price range and a wide assortment of styles. Pick one that makes you feel good to wear. Feeling good is underrated!
