Everything is placed in one single database, which makes things a lot more easier.

Another great benefit of the EMR is the fact that it helps with the space storage a lot. Things were done differently back in the day when doctors had to store information in files and drawers in order to have a filling system. Now, they need to input certain keywords and they reach the data that they want in no time. Its one of the best ways to save a lot of space, but energy and time as well. Imagine a certain crises when there is need of information in a limited amount of time. What would prefer in a situation like that one? A computer that finds your information in a split of a second or a filling system that isnt well organized?

The idea of having a system that is user friendly is quite relevant because of the fact that not all of the medical staff have a background with computers. That is one of the reasons why the EMR system is carefully designed to be operated by people that know how to use a computer, but just with the basics. This makes it easy in another way as well: you dont need an IT specialist in your staff because there arent any complex things that are required with the system. Of course, its really great to have one by your side in case something happens, but its really important to consider that the system is capable of being handled by a single person.
