Where Should You Send Your Video Traffic?

I have a question for you. If you are currently using YouTube or any other type of video marketing to grow your home based business where are you sending all the traffic that your videos are creating? Are you sending them to a website? A blog? An email address? A phone number? I see people doing all these things and I've always wanted to know which is the best thing to do. So I figured if I had this question then others must have it as well. In my experience marketing on YouTube I find that some methods are defiantly more effective than others. Here are a few of the most popular places that people send their YouTube traffic and I will tell you my experience with each one.

A Phone Number - I am not a very big fan of just giving out your phone number on a video. Firstly because it's so unpredictable. You never know what you might be doing when that prospect calls you you could be working on your business or you could be in a huge fight with your spouse. It's all just so up in the air. Also, a lot of people don't want to pick up the phone and call a total stranger. They would much rather get more information from a website or some other source that is less personal. The only time I would ever give out a phone number is if you have a business line that goes right to voicemail and gives them a bit of information. But even that in my opinion isn't as good as a website.

A Blog - A blog is fine as long as it's focused and created just for prospects. You don't want to send people to a blog that is meant for training purposes you want to give them a view of what the business is about and what it can do for them not a bunch of useless stuff that an outsider doesn't care about. Also, in most cases a blog doesn't have a way to capture information from the prospect so if they go to the blog and then leave you've lost them forever. That's not good.

A Website - A website is BY FAR the best place to send your traffic. It can be focused and give the prospect a good solid idea of what the business is all about. It is also helpful if you have a capture page that will get their information like name and email address so that you can contact them later if you need to.

An Email Address - I really hate this one when I see it the most. For me telling people to email you if they are interested is just pointless. Yes, I'm sure that some people will actually do it but I promise you that it is way, way less effective than other methods. First of all because email is so not personal. Any yahoo can have an email address and when you send an email you really have no way of knowing who it is going to or who you're communicating with. Also because it's like asking the prospect to do all the work. If you want to sign them up you need to make the information readily available for them don't make them email you for more info... give it to them already!
