It seems that the telephone is losing out to the cell phone but would you believe that the telephone is equally good? Yep! The good old telephone is always necessary for us. The cell phone has its own advantages but the telephone is equally advantageous, too. With the cell phone evolving in a different dimension every day, the telephone has not lost its significance in this fast-paced world. Lets see in what ways the telephone is good for us.

Though the cell phone seems to be comfy, it is the telephone which helps save money. You neednt sign any contracts to use telephones and so you will not have to bother about penalties for giving up your connection when you are moving before the contract expires. If your profession or lifestyle demands staying away from home frequently, the cell phone is more comfortable. Another good point about telephones is if you are in an emergency and want to call 911, you can be easily located if you call from a telephone and so help can easily reach you sooner than if you call using a cell phone.

The next point is about battery life. Telephones do not have batteries and hence there is no need for you to charge the battery whereas a cell phone cant be used without a battery. Imagine you were in an emergency and would not be able to go to your office, if your cell phones battery didnt have charge, you wouldnt be able to inform your office without a telephone. Therefore, the telephone is equally important as the cell phone.

You may become a living proof of the Murphys Law at any point of time. Oh yeah, your cell phone might act up when you badly want to call someone. At such times, the telephone never fails. If your friend or a distant relative wants to get in touch with you, they can easily locate you using a directory if you have a telephone. As cell phone numbers are not listed in any centralized directory, people would find it rather difficult to locate you if you dont have a telephone. Your childhood friends might come into your life anytime as it is easy to locate you. You might even lose the chance of getting in touch with your kith and kin if you dont have a telephone.

You might think that having both, a cell phone and a telephone would increase your utility bills but the fact is that using a telephone whenever possible is a good means to save your money. If you have a land line connection, you can have a phone in every room but it is not possible with cell phones. You will have to provide every family member with a cell phone if you dont have a land line connection. Isnt it a good way to save those hard-earned dollars easily?
