New, trendy and hip Halloween pranksters, on the other hand, know the value of having fun, and the convenience and usefulness of Funkins is where it is at. A Funkin, of course, is a fake pumpkin that looks like a real pumpkin. And, like the real thing, it can be carved any way you like and usually is sold with its own carving tools. Funkins come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors.

Around the same price of most average pumpkins, a Funkin doesnt cost too much, doesnt have messy seeds that need to be scraped out, and doesnt slowly rot and have to be thrown away a couple of days after Halloween, or in some years, scraped up off the ground as New Years Eve approaches. There are multitudes of ways that you can carve Funkins and make them unattractive in a Halloweenish way as the not-so-holy Holiday approaches.

These fake pumpkins are a delightful substitute for real pumpkins not only because they are less messy and can last for years if you take care of them, but they are also great to have if you are allergic to pumpkin. If you are one of those people who have an extreme allergy to pumpkin (which for some people can produce severe reactions, including death), then fake pumpkin carving may be just the thing that you need to enter into the Halloween party spirit.

Funkins are made of low density foam, so its not like you are carving wood, clay, rubber or Styrofoam. They have about the same density as real pumpkins, which make them an increasingly popular choice for modern families.
