It might be an idealized image, but in many ways that only serves to sharpen their longing to find the old spirit of the land of their forefathers.

Currently, there are a huge percentage of people descended from the Irish in America, Canada, and other parts of the world and there is a lot of nostalgia and identification with that Irish heritage even if it is diluted by other blood lines as the generations pass.

Evidence of this can be seen in the huge St. Patricks Day celebrations every year in different parts of the world, in big cities and small. "Everyone is Irish on St. Patricks Day" is a common saying and the sales of cheesy green merchandise and leprechaun hats certainly bear out its popularity. This love of Ireland can also be seen by the desire people have to visit and experience authentic Irish bars.

They want to be able to go to authentic Irish pubs and feel like they have stepped back in time to the land of their ancestors, whether they have any Irish DNA or not. They want to be able to go to such a place and soak in the atmosphere they imagine is present at authentic Irish bars in Ireland.

That atmosphere is what these Irish-lovers want to find and wise bar owners will strive hard to provide the feel of authentic Irish bars no matter where in the world they are wanting to construct such a neighborhood gathering place and they feel like there is a market for it.

It might be wise to not attempt to enter into the construction of authentic Irish pubs without some guidance because there are a lot of details to be considered when it comes to furnishings, building supplies, construction styles, the type of drinks and food served, and how to bring in music and dancing that will just put the final touch on the imported authentic Irish pubs feel.

Attempting to create that authentic experience on your own may not be successful and there are enough people who have been able to visit Ireland, where the authentic Irish pub is still a reality, that they will recognize a bad attempt and certainly complain about it to others. Avoid that by doing it right the first time.
