Why Do We Kill Ourselves In Pursuit of The Missing

. . Something?

Butterflies waft like a scented breeze from petal to flower barely leaving a trace of their visit, yet the results applaud throughout natures bounty for the gifts received. Ants toil day and night in a never-ending tranquility with effortless prayerful endurance that would put the busiest of cities to shame in their perfect execution of success in ratio to effort.

Humans are not so adept or skilled with panache to equip our world with the beauties our cousins in nature so deftly and exquisitely produce but we tirelessly pursue the challenge with vagrant indifference. What is so magical one may ask of a world that pursues horizons with the intent of beating sunrise before the dawn with imaginary industry that fails to impress tranquility?

Listening to Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump and Brett Michaels in different interviews with Piers Morgan may leave one empty but asking questions nonetheless. It is vacant tragedy that such enterprising and talented individuals cannot love themselves enough to stop, while lost in busyness.

In another interview Piers had with Matt Damon, it was refreshing to hear Matt express his family connection and the importance of not being away from home for more than a fortnight, beautifully enchanting to say the least. Piers Morgan has a style that seeks to uproot the driving forces behind his guests while at the same time attaining answers to questions that may prefer shadows.

Matt Damon talked about his marriage with his wife as a most beautiful experience that defied the inference contracts typically denote in this vacant world of materialism while illuminating the possibilities experienced through true love. He talked about commitment and friendships as being extremely important and not once did he mention over indulgence in the accoutrements our world expects of successful careers.

Success to Matt Damon is typified in family and friendships with career the catalyst that cements his life but the family is the pivot. Giving back to the community is something he is also passionate about as well and the energy steaming from his discourse added validity proving truth to his words. God bless him indeed!

Wealth or the appearance of it may be an extension of one not a restraining element of life afraid of release or true freedom. It would appear that with pre-nuptials and extra sensory safeguards in place to protect ones net worth the essence of life is never addressed whereas the minuscule details of worldly attributes assume precedence, almost with a cowardly inference.

How wonderful would our world be for the vast majority anyway, if meditation was an essential part of life from conception to final exhalation? It may be a quiet exercise with calming influences but the rewards to our psyche may introduce us to the world of actually true love with oneself as opposed to excessive pursuit not found elsewhere.

It is Jesus who said You must be born again,' (John 3:7). Nevertheless, what difference does that make if we have never lived in the first place? As we look around at the conflicts of the world and the pursuit of equal rights from Tunisia to China and on Main Street in every other town around the globe there is a visible emptiness that all the cultures of our world have neglected. Yet, we continue the pursuit in the hope enlightenment may descend from the sky or perhaps appear around the next bend.

Fortunately, the excursion is closer than the next bend, the new car, extra pair of shoes or wild vacations, lust versus love, not to mention alcohol or other forms of substance abuse. Our souls pursue what we decline to recognise and drive us to despair in the hope we awaken with insight from introspection forced upon us, but even that may require more than a miracle. Let us pray and meditate for enlightenment and inspiration through God's wonderful gifts; perhaps too we may gain the courage to live and place people before profit. God bless!
