Email marketing can't be that difficult can it? You just write an email and send it to a bunch of people, right? Wrong! It's much more difficult than that and before you start you need to get some email marketing training.

To start with you need a list of people to send your emails to, oh and by the way, they need to actually want to receive emails from you. You can't just pick up email addresses from the internet and mail them your product offers because that is spam. Spam doesn't stand for anything; it's just a slang term for unsolicited commercial email. So, you need email marketing training to teach you how to collect email addresses legitimately from people who want you to email them.

Do you know what an autoresponder is? Do you know which the best one is and how to set one up? Unless you want to send all your emails by hand, you'll certainly need to learn.

OK, so you have your list of people who signed up to receive your emails and you've set up your autoresponder but how do you make them actually open them? You need to have a really catchy subject which will make them curious and to learn how to do this, you need email marketing training.

What do you write in your emails? That's quite an art. You need to make people read past the first sentence and deliver quality information not just say "buy this product because I say so and I want some commission". You need to learn how to address your list, how to pitch the tone of your emails, how long to make them and how often to send them.

How do you make people want to click on the link in your email and do you send them direct to your affiliate page or to somewhere else which encourages them to buy? Did you know that there are techniques for encouraging people to buy something else as well as your original offer.

So you see, it's not all that simple and you do need email marketing training before you start so that you can build a list and keep it, write and send compelling emails and sell those products.
