Why Hire Web Designers for Website Designing
Why Hire Web Designers for Website Designing
Designing is inevitable part of every media whether print or electronic. Thing which differs them from one another is their application and presentation. It is not necessary that designers who are excellent with the print media can produce similar results with the web products. There can be several reasons behind it like, lack of technology knowledge and skill, its usage, interaction between the computer and humans, etc.
From professional point of view website art directors having required skill and training should be given the task of website designing. Many people still confuse normal user interface designers with web designers whose working style and pattern is very different. This role interchange leads to end products that are far away from perfectness. Websites might not be useful as it can be, print media would also not look the way it should. Print designers and web designers work profile should be kept separate.
There is a vast difference when you go for designing or a print media or a website. As far as print material is concerned, they can be carried along and read according to the convenience, whereas in a website first the customer visits the site and then see and read the images and content. The pattern of reading and viewing of a print material than seeing it on screen is very different.
If both are compared, the print page's content can be viewed all at once by the readers and can be noted by the human mind. In a website design elements appear slowly and steadily, the download speed varies because of internet connection speed, screen size, image size, etc. Thus the viewing time and pattern is different.
Response to the designing media is affected by the cognitive load which concerns the load experienced by the mind during thinking process. In a working memory it is difficult to process information shorter time span. In print products cognitive load is lesser than web products. People give much time to print materials when looking out for any information, whereas in a website people give lesser time.
While reading online people use their hand to scroll the mouse and eyes to locate the information. In print products visual scanning of the content and images is done to find the information needed. When a user takes much time to find the required data, his cognitive load would increase. This load is affected by the time between the sight reaction and hand movements. Therefore if the web design is done in a manner where it takes long time for the user to find required information they would either leave that site or forgets what they were searching for.
